Portrait Painting with Randal Roberts Full Day Course

Come and create a portrait with Randal & friends on December 3rd! Class from 10-6!

In this class, we will create a realistic portrait based on a photograph (of each participant’s choosing). After using the grid method to transfer our photos onto canvas, we will employ acrylic painting & glazing techniques to begin to bring our portraits to life. Class will include one-on-one assistance, as well as discussion and guidance on composition, lighting & shading, choosing a background and secondary subject matter, and how to make your painting meaningful.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this portrait class is the perfect opportunity to take your skills to the next level in a friendly setting.

All painting material will be provided. 

Class Schedule: 

10 AM - 10:30: Opening circle 

     - Name / Where did you come from / What is your relationship to art

10:30 - 1 PM: Drawing & transfer                 

Grid method: 

1-2 PM: Lunch 

2 - 6 PM: Painting  

Shading / glazing / one-on-ones 

6 PM - 6:30: Review & closing circle 

6:30 - on: Bonus open studio if circumstances allow! :)
